Tropism In Man
The subject I am going to discuss with you is a relatively new subject to the students of biology themselves. In biology, they could have studied tropism in plants, for example, phototropism, which is the tendency of plants to bend towards light rays or geotropism, which is also the tendency of plants to move towards gravity, that is,their roots. But,tropism in man, which I presume is a new topic altogether, can be classified into two which are, namely,Goodtropism and badtropism or eviltropism.

The genesis of these tropisms dates back to the day that man sinned against God,which resulted from the violation of the rules of God as regards the Garden of Eden,he has come to the knowledge of good and evil, having eaten of the fruits of the tree in the midst of the Garden. This day heralded the beginning of tropism in man.Man,having come to the knowledge of good and evil, can either tend towards good or evil as the case may be.This can be corroborated by the experience of Nelson Mandela when he recalled how he came to realize in prison that the warders could be good or bad, like any other people. Many factors have contributed to this, they include, namely,
  1. Individual backgrounds
  2. Lack of love
  3. Broken Marriages
  4. Government and society
  5. Peer Groups
  6. to mention but a few of these factors. Each of them has played a role in man, rendering him either good or bad

In this writing,i would dwell briefly on each of these factors.Individual backgrouds contribute a lot towards this subject. If a child is brought up in an environment that is characterised with evil deeds,he/she tends not to see anything wrong in being evil and vice-versa.In other words,if a child has a good background,he/she tends to do good at all times, and similarly,if he has an evil background,he/she tends to do evil at all times.Love is another factor which plays a big role in determining whether a child would be evil or good.If a child is denied of love,he/she tends not to love and consequently love would be exchanged for hatred, and if he has hatred for people,he/she can unleash evils on them

Besides, broken marriages have also played a role.A child who is a victim of a broken marriage would automatically not be shown enough love by either parent, for a united love is incomparable to a divided love, therefore he/she is likely to suffer from deficiency of love. And deficieny of love could generate hatred for the reason behind the split and consequently the married parties. And where there is hatred, its twin brother evil follows or unleashes.

Moreover, government and society have not helped matters either.Government and society have not helped the situation by not showing love on children that are victims of circumstance.Victims of circumstance are expected to be shown love so that they can show love in return, but they are treated with disdain and absolute rejection which later boomerang as a return of evil from them.Furthermore, peer groups too play some role.Peers influence one another for good or bad.

In the final analysis, man, like plants, can either tend towards good, that is,goodtropism or towards evil, that is,eviltropism and these tendencies are the results of the above mentioned factors
