| (Olu is just convalescing as the promotion examinations into form V approach. He doesn't give up his study. He writhes in pains as he studies and still comes out victoriously in the examination.) |
| OLU(being haunted by the ghost of the terror unleashed on him,still goes to study for the examinations.).This forthcoming examination has to be written with all might,power and intelligence at my disposal. |
| Really,the beaten i had been subject by Jide and the boys leaves me writhing in pains all over my body.But i would not allow this to stop me from coming out triumphantly in the examination. |
| I want to surprise the teachers ,and let them know that i was really a very good student prior to joining bad gangs. |

| SOLA(jumps into the classroom,and cries Olu).Good day,Olu! How are the pains on your body? Do they give you some relieve? I believe,they would eventually leave you.Olu,i am scared of this forthcoming examination.Could you believe that i could not understand most of the subjects when i was reading them,particularly mathematics. |

| TITI(coming over to join in the discussion,speaks).Sola,what did i hear you say? Did you say you could not understand most of the subjects? If that is the case,then it is pathetic.Anyway,as far as i am concerned,i was digesting and sinking everything i read.I must confess that those ones i told you about that i could not understand have now been understood.I am looking forward to the examination with lots of successes in my subjects |

| SOLA(cuts in suddenly)That is all i have to say.If you like,take offence at me,I don't bloody care what your reaction to my utterances is. All i am saying is that i don't want you in this discussion.(They start using facial expression to show how disgusting they feel towards each other and as this continues,Olu calls them to order.) |

| OLU(extremely surprise at the way sola takes offence at Titi,speaks up.).Sola,i did not expect you to behave this way.At least,everybody is expressing his or her feelings on the subjects. Everybody is entitled to his or her own feelings. I don't see reason for taking offence with what Titi had said. Have you quarrelled before? But i saw both of you holding hands this morning when you were coming to school. I don't think you have frictions before.Now,i would like you to call a truce. Are you ready to........ |

| TITI(cuts in.).This has become the attitude of sola for sometimes now. She doen't want to hear someone discussing his or her success.She always takes offence at it. |

| OLU(calling Titi to order).That is okay! I am not interested in that for now.All i am interested in now is that you call a truce by hugging each other.Because i believe that if you hug each other,then i would assume that everything is over and you would resume your friendship as normal. |

| SOLA(objecting to what Olu has said.).Olu,i don't have interest in calling a truce. I have observed that Titi is always arrogant with the little progresses she makes. |

| OLU. Sola,if you would honour me, then you would agree to what i have just said. Give me that respect as an older person among you. Titi, i want you to take the step of hugging Sola. Come on,do it. |

| TITI(hating to nursing grudges against her friend,streches out her arms to receive sola and hugs her.).Sola,you should know that we are best of friends. We are not supposed to always exchange bitter words.Let us learn to always accommodate each other regardless of the successes trailing us. You know i don't like to nurse grudges against anybody. |

| SOLA(holding tightly Titi for the first time after the quarrel.).It is alright. You know you are the cause of it. You like to always blow your ego and this is what i hate most. |

| TITI. Don't let us lay blames at each other's doorsteps. Let everything be bygone. do you hear me Sola? I believe........(As titi wants to continue,their mathematics teacher steps into the classroom and they go over to their seats) |

| MATHEMATICS TEACHER(drawing one of the tables nearer and sits on it)Good day, students! I believe every student in this class knows the examination is some days away,that is,about four days from now. We would not be doing anything serious today. I expect every student to be preparing in earnest for the examination with a determination to come out in flying colours. My piece of advice for you all is to strive to be successful. Good day! |
