| | Entertainment | | One of the most lucrative industries in the world today is the entertainment industry.Every country of the world has come to embrace this industry.The industries which used to be the haven for good-for-nothings and not-doing wells of the society has now become a place of abode and succour for people from all walks of life.People who ordinarily could not have found their feet in the acedemics world have flocked to the entertainment world. | | | In those days,education was regarded in high esteem.For one to be recognized and respected in the society,he must be well-educated.It created a gap,chasm,and rift between the educated and uneducated ones.
In some countries in continent Africa,in the 50s through the early 80s;people who did not attend universities were seen as outcasts.They were left at the mercy of these privileged few.They were also looked down upon by their privileged counterparts who had attended colleges as not-to-do-wells in the society.Education segregates between the educated and uneducated.To some extent,the educated ones separated and classed themselves from the uneducated ones. | | | Besides,young ladies who were matured for marriages,looked around to find men that were well-educated,basically to secure their material and financial needs.And those men stood better chances to taking them eventually to the alter.
But the genesis of the entertainment world dates back to the days of pronounced racial discrimination between the white and black races of America.Many black kids were not given the opportunities to attend colleges,and in situations where they were given,the teachers were not in their favours or encouraging;and as a result a lot of black children did not attend or finish their grade classes or levels.They were seen roaming about the streets as hustlers.There was a concentration of them on Harlem | | | | The true picture of the positions of black kids could be seen in child Malcolm Little who was later known as Malcolm X of the Nation of Islam.He,as a kid,was denied parental care and subsequently went through a lot of maltreatment in the hand of the society which resulted in his cultivation of some habits which were detrimental to the society and landed him in the white man's prison. | | | | In an attempt to tell the white man that they did not feel bad,they started organizing and entertaining themselves.The educated elite of the then America,would look out of their windows and see them enjoying themselves.At a point,they too were tempted to join them to relieve their boredom.This marks the beginning of the entertainment world and today's success story which everybody wants to be a part. | | | | Finally,entertainment industy,like most industries,is an industry that cannot be written off today in the dustbin of history. |
