| | Learning | | Learning is an art that many people hate to undergo and as a result despise it.It is a task,we are introduced to very early in our lives.A child grows up with learning every day of his life.He is introduced into it immediately he reaches the age when he can communicate properly,for it involves communication. For effective learning to take place,it has to be accompanied by effective communication. | | | | As we grow up in our individual homes,we are introduced to varied forms of learning as our background dictates.Some parents represent bad examples to their kids and these bad examples are left for their kids to learn from while some others represent good examples to their kids and these good examples are left for their kids to learn from. | | | | A psychologist once said that the brain of a newly born child is like a blank chalkboard that accommodates everything that is written into it. In the process of learning,a child tends to accommodate in his brain anything that is left in it,whether good or bad.Learning does not and should not stop at childhood.We are suppose to continually learn new things throughout our sojourn on this planet earth.Some people believe that learning can only be obtained in schools and that after school there should be no more learning.If you fall into the category of people that hold this belief,i am happy to tell you that it is wrong.Learning is supposed to be a day-to-day activity.Learning does not necessarily mean reading books or going to school to be taught,but it means learning from yourselves and your neighbours. | | | | You learn from yourselves when you discover your past and present mistakes and vow not to allow them to repeat themselves.A lot of people have found it difficult to learn from themselves because they feel they are above mistakes and as a result remain fools throughout their lives.By discovering that you are not above mistakes,regenerates and renews a new mind in you that keeps watch of your mistakes and make sure you do not repeat them again and again. Do not allow your emotional disposition to override your sense of learning. | | | | A number of us too have the belief that we cannot learn from our neighbours. This kind of attitude borders on pomposity and stronghead.Stronghead does not help anybody. Be humble enough to learn from your neighbours when the need arises.I have seen instances where some people say they cannot learn from their neighbours. Taking you down the memory lane,a gentleman travels all the way from Africa to Europe for some holidays,and while he was in Europe he happened on a family whose name had become an household name in England and Europe.When the man from Africa heard this,he was moved and there and then he vowed that he was going to take the step this family had taken when he was back in Africa.I must confess,today,the man's name is now an household name in Nigeria and Africa. | | | | Finally,learning as an art is supposed to be a everyday thing. Stop being proud,learn from self and neighbours! |
